Open Water (Coastal area Northumberland)
This piece conveys my memory of visiting the Farne Islands a few years back.
I recall the boat trip across the undulating North Sea waters, slowly heading towards the islands, teeming with migrant birds.
As we progressed I could see the distant lighthouse stood proud on the horizon, the shards of sunlight bursting through and illuminating this beacon against the dark clouds.
